How the number of tickets is calculated

The number of tickets required is based on the weight or dimensions of your parcel - whichever is greater

Parcel Size (Volumetric weight) Ticket type Weight
0 - 5kg 6 - 10kg 11 - 15kg 16 - 20kg 20 - 25kg
Up to 0.025m3 Shorthaul / Outer Area 1 1 1 2 2
Longhaul / Inter-island 1 2 3 4 5
0.025m - 0.05m3 Shorthaul / Outer Area 2 2 2 2 2
Longhaul / Inter-island 2 2 3 4 5
0.05m - 0.075m3 Shorthaul / Outer Area 3 3 3 3 3
Longhaul / Inter-island 3 3 3 4 5
0.075m - 0.1m3 Shorthaul / Outer Area 4 4 4 4 4
Longhaul / Inter-island 4 4 4 4 5
Local parcels require one ticket per 0.1m3 or 25kg

I want the parcel to be signed

If you need the receiver to sign for the delivery, tick the 'signature required' box on the courier ticket. This means the parcel will only be delivered if someone is present to sign at the delivery address. If you would like it to be delivered whether someone is present or not, we suggest not ticking the signature required box.

'Signature required' is available at no extra cost and confirms the parcel has been delivered.

* Signatures delivery may not be available for rural deliveries.

How to calculate parcel size/volumetric weight

For sqaure edged parcels:

  1. Measure the length, height and width of the parcel and record in metres
  2. Use the following calculation A x B x C = m3

Length (m) x Width (m) x Height (m)

e.g. 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.5 = 0.045m3

For rounded, triangular or odd shaped parcels:

  1. Measure the length and height/weight of the parcel and record in metres
  2. Use the following calculation A x A x C = m3

Length (m) x Width (m) x Height (m)

e.g. 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.5 = 0.045m3
