Packs and tickets

To send in New Zealand you'll either need to place courier tickets on your item or put it in an Express pack. Here's how to choose and use the right one for you.

Courier tickets

Get the right type and quantity for your item.

Our ticketing system allows you to send items nationwide. Which ticket to select and how many to use will depend upon the destination, weight and size of your item. Have a read of the information below as a guide or use our Ticket Calculator.

Which ticket do I need?

The table below lists our standard tickets but other tickets may be available in some areas. Our Delivery maps and schedules will help you determine which is the appropriate colour coded ticket(s) for your destination. If you have any doubts get in touch with your local branch.

How many tickets do I need?

It certainly pays to check. The number of tickets required is based on the weight or dimensions of your item whichever is greater. Don't forget to include a rural or Saturday delivery ticket if you are using these services. Use our Ticket Calculator or the table below to work out how many tickets to use.

If sending Dangerous Goods ensure a Dangerous Goods ticket is used and all necessary paperwork supplied.

Local items require one ticket per 0.1m3 or 25kg
(If item is over 25kg, then two tickets are required)
How to Calculate Size
Box dimensions Cylinder dimensions
Use the following calculation A x B x C = m3
e.g. 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.5 = 0.045m3
Use the following calculation A x A x C = m3
e.g. 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.5 = 0.045m3
  1. Take the measurement of each dimension in centimetres
  2. Calculate size = Length x Width x Height (Max = 0.100m3)
    E.g. Length 50cm, Width 30cm, Height 30cm = 0.5 x 0.3 x 0.3 = 0.045m3
  3. If you don't know the weight you can estimate it
    Calculating Weight = Length x Width x Height x 200 (Max = 25kgs)
    E.g. Length 50cm, Width 30cm, Height 30cm = 0.5 x 0.3 x 0.3 = 0.045 x 200 = 9kgs
  4. From the above table identify your destination and how many tickets should be applied
E.g. If you were sending a 0.045m3 item to a longhaul destination and it weighed 9kg you would need 2 tickets.

Signature Request

If you want the receiver to sign for the delivery, simply tick the 'signature required' box on the courier ticket. This service is available at no extra cost and confirms the item has been delivered.

Please note that items requiring a signature on delivery will not be left at an address, so if you wish to have it dropped off you may not wish to request this.

* Signatures delivery may not be available for rural deliveries.

Saturday Deliveries

We provide Saturday deliveries to most main metropolitan areas. Simply attach a Saturday delivery ticket to your ticketed item and label your item clearly 'Saturday delivery'.

* An item sent as Saturday delivery to a destination not in a Saturday delivery area will be delivered on the next working day.

* Main metropolitan areas include: Auckland, Invercargill, Rotorua, Blenheim, Levin, Tauranga, Christchurch, Masterton, Timaru, Dunedin, Napier, Wairoa, Feilding, Nelson, Whanganui, Gisborne, New Plymouth, Wellington, Hamilton, North Harbour, Whangarei, Hastings, Palmerston North.

Rural Deliveries

We deliver to thousands of rural addresses nationwide. To send an item to a rural address you will need to place an additional rural ticket per 15kg or 0.075m3 on your pack or ticketed item. These tickets can be bought here, and are available in books of 20. Alternatively we can charge the rural portion to your account on pick up. To check whether an intended delivery address is considered by us to be rural / non-urban, go here to use our address checking tool. Please note, items classified as 'Dangerous Goods' cannot be sent to rural addresses.

* Signatures may not be available for rural addresses. Rural deliveries may take up to an additional 48 hours.
