Merry Christmas…Almost!
How early is too early to talk about Christmas?
You’re probably thinking, “It’s only October!” but…it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas! Or for any upcoming holidays for that matter. Especially if you’re a business owner.
The Holiday Season and surrounding Sales Days are crucial for many businesses, so it’s important to be prepared as early as possible.
Christmas
Christmas garners the most spending from kiwis in New Zealand. In December 2021, New Zealanders spent a record $5.2 billion at retail outlets six weeks before Christmas and nearly $100 million on Boxing Day.
Black Friday & Cyber Monday Sales
Black Friday (25th November) and Cyber Monday (28th November) are now two of the busiest online shopping days in the world. In 2021, Kiwis spent over $248.2m on Black Friday. Cyber Monday is the Monday after Black Friday, a designated ecommerce sales day.
With all of that in mind, it’s probably a good time to start thinking about and preparing for Christmas as well as the other high-spend periods.
What can you do to prepare for these big sales days?

Besides preparing for the Sales, you can prepare for the holidays when your business is closed. We’ve created a form so you can let us know when your business is closed and avoid items being delivered while you’re away.
If you are closed only on statutory holidays (Dec 25-27 & Jan 1 – 3), you do not need to fill out this form.

Our Key Focuses
Reducing emissions for a better future
We recognise that our core business relies on transportation to service our customers.
As part of our commitment to the environmental future, we are Toitū-certified, and in 2021, our parent company Freightways was named a Top 10 Carbon Reducer by Toitū Envirocare.
Reducing fossil-based virgin plastic use by 70%
We’re committed to reducing the amount of virgin plastics we use and ensuring the rest are either reusable, recyclable or upcycled.
To back that up, we set ourselves a target to reduce fossil-based virgin plastic use by more than 70% by 2023.
