  • 87% of online shoppers conduct research on delivery before finalising purchase decisions.
  • Repeat customers spend an average of 67% more than new customers, and acquiring new customers costs 5 to 10 times more than selling to existing customers.

Sending Age Restricted items?

Introducing the R18 Delivery Ticket

New Zealand Couriers, having long delivered alcohol and nicotine-related items, including vapes, recently introduced an R18 – Restricted Delivery ticket to aid senders in complying with legislation requiring age verification of recipients.

Is the R18 ticket mandatory?

The R18 ticket is to help customers abide by the laws and regulations in sending age-restricted products via our network. 

New Zealand Couriers recommends you follow the laws around sending age-restricted products. However, we do not demand the use of these tickets, as this is entirely the sender’s responsibility. 

What does it mean for you?

When sending an age-restricted item with the R18 ticket, it must be attached alongside the standard label and any other service labels like Dangerous Goods or Saturday Delivery.

When a delivery occurs, the courier will ask to see ID if the receiver looks under 25. Without ID, the parcel returns to the nearest branch for collection upon ID verification.

As ANZAC day approaches on the 25th of April, we want to take a moment to remember and honour the sacrifices of those who have served our country. New Zealand Couriers are RSA’s (Royal New Zealand Returned and Services Association) Poppy Partners – and our team work hard to ensure the Poppys and related materials are moved all around New Zealand as needed.

The RSA offers a range of support, including advice and guidance, advocacy services and financial support to improve accessibility in accommodation, enable access to mental health services, get medical conditions treated, and ensure that children and whānau of the fallen and injured are looked after.

Donations received by the RSA go directly to supporting New Zealand’s veterans of military service and their whānau.
